Commissioning a work

From a conversation to a one-of-a-kind piece.

Every commission begins with a free application and unfolds over seven clear steps. The Private Design Consultation Fee is credited in full toward your finished artwork if you choose to proceed.

This is the process for commissioned works (Kintsugi, Gemgraphy). Buying from the Collection is simpler — choose a piece, pay in full, and we ship it. See the FAQ.

  1. Apply

Start with a free application. Tell us which work draws you, who the piece is for, and what you want it to hold. There is no cost and no obligation.

    Free · no obligation
  2. Invitation

We review your application. If your idea and one of our makers are a fit, we invite you to a Private Design Consultation and send a link to pay the Consultation Fee.

  3. Private Design Consultation

A 60–90 minute online consultation. We listen to your background and what you want the piece to mean, then explore the direction of the words and design, colour, materials and natural stone, and a size that fits your space.

  4. Concept & Quote

You receive a concept sheet that captures the direction of your piece, together with a detailed quote and a proposed delivery timeline. If you decide not to proceed, the concept sheet is yours to keep.

  5. Commission Confirmed

To begin, you pay a deposit of 50% of the total commission cost. Your Consultation Fee is credited toward this amount. The balance is due on completion, before delivery.

  6. Creation

Your artisan makes the piece by hand, and we share progress at the milestones of the work. Kintsugi works take approximately 2–4 months; Gemgraphy works approximately 6–10 weeks. The object is composed once — there is no second copy.

  7. Delivery

Once the balance is paid, your finished, signed work ships to you in fine-art packaging, fully insured, with shipping included. Import duties and taxes are set by your local customs and are the buyer's responsibility. If your piece is damaged in transit, contact us within 7 days of arrival and we will repair or remake it at no charge.

    Worldwide shipping included
